The Czech Statistical Office published on 23 October 2026 the last estimate of this year's harvest as of the end of September. The yield of the basic cereals (wheat, barley, rye, oats and triticale) fell by 16 percent year on year to 6.46 million tonnes. The estimate of the total cereal harvest including grain maize is 17.6 percent lower than in the previous year and, according to the office, is the second lowest in the past ten years; only in 2018 was it lower.

The rapeseed harvest decreased by 21.4 percent to 803 thousand tonnes, the lowest since 2005. Grain maize is expected to amount to 538 thousand tonnes, a third less than last year. Potatoes are expected to total 582 thousand tonnes (a fifth less), sugar beet 3.26 million tonnes (17.4 percent less) and poppy seed 25 thousand tonnes (13.5 percent less). Sunflower seed production, by contrast, is a third higher, at 77 thousand tonnes, owing to a larger sown area.

Dagmar Pospíšilová of the Czech Statistical Office said that spring frosts, drought and high temperatures during the growing season reduced yields per hectare.
