The Hradec Králové Region is building new facilities for tourists in the grounds of the Dobrošov fortress in the Náchod area. Construction work began in September 2026 and is due to be completed in spring 2027. The region will pay almost 9.5 million crowns for the kiosk. The construction follows the reconstruction of the fortress, after which the site opened to visitors in spring 2022.[1]
Design of the building
The kiosk will have a single storey, partly sunk into the existing mound and covered by a roof with plants. The visible part of the facade will be of exposed concrete. Tourists will find drinks and packaged and fast food there. The building will also include working facilities for employees of the Muzeum Náchodska and a workshop for servicing and minor repairs needed to run the site.[1]
Statements and operation
The regional councillor for investment, Zdeněk Praus (ANO), said that the region believes in further improving services for the tens of thousands of visitors who come to the site every year. According to the report, the construction work does not restrict the normal operation of the fortress and the visitor centre.[1]
