After the 2026 municipal elections, Anežka Pavlišová of the grouping Lidovci a nezávislí is to become mayor of Choceň in the Ústí nad Orlicí district. The grouping finished third in the election. The election results in Choceň gave the individual groupings 8, 5, 5 and 3 seats. Pavlišová said that after the election a three-party coalition was first discussed with the groupings Pro Choceň Společně and Nestraníci, but Nestraníci ended the talks. A coalition was then agreed with the winning Živá Choceň. At the time of the interview, the details of the coalition agreement were being negotiated. Jan Homuta, whom Živá Choceň had counted on as its candidate, is to be first deputy mayor.

Pavlišová is the daughter of the politician Josef Lux, chairman of KDU-ČSL, who died in 1999. Her sister Marie Kršková was mayor of Orlické Podhůří for almost two terms and, since the 2025 elections to the Chamber of Deputies, has been a KDU-ČSL member of parliament on the SPOLU coalition ticket. Pavlišová already ran for mayor in 2022, when her grouping ended up in opposition. She has completed training programmes for local politicians run by KDU-ČSL and worked in project management, grants and community work. Among her priorities she lists responsible management of the town and cooperation.
