Member of Parliament Jindřich Rajchl (PRO, elected for SPD) and the first deputy chairman of KDU-ČSL, Benjamin Činčila, clashed in late October 2026 on the programme 360° on CNN Prima NEWS. The debate concerned the possible abolition of television and radio licence fees, which the governing coalition of ANO, SPD and the Motorists is pushing. The course of the debate is described by the server FORUM 24.[1]
Arguments about the fees
Rajchl defended voluntary payment of the fees and compared them to a motorway vignette. In his view, people should not be forced to pay for a service they do not use. Činčila rejected this reading: in his view, public-service television serves society as a whole, not only individual viewers according to their personal preferences.[1]
Statement about Czech Television collaborators
Rajchl called the external collaborators of Czech Television “parasites” who, according to him, draw about eight billion Czech crowns, and claimed that they have overpriced contracts. Presenter Pavlína Wolfová asked the MP not to call people who work as sole traders that. Činčila told Rajchl: “Stop shouting, you are behaving like a lout.”[1]
Reactions after the programme
On social media Činčila described Rajchl's way of communicating as unacceptable. On Facebook Rajchl repeated his opposition to the fees and again commented on his opponents.[1]
