Brian Priske is a Danish football coach and the head coach of AC Sparta Prague. He previously managed Midtjylland, Antwerp and Feyenoord Rotterdam, and he also played for Denmark.[1][2]
Under him, AC Sparta Prague lost 1:0 away to Olympiacos in Piraeus on 22 October 2026, in the third round of the Europa League league phase. The goal came in the 78th minute. The decisive goal was scored by substitute Armando González, whose shot was deflected into his own net by AC Sparta Prague midfielder Sivert Mannsverk. [1] At the press conference Priske called the result fair, but said that with a little luck AC Sparta Prague could have taken at least a point. The team had four points after three rounds.[1] The defeat in Piraeus was AC Sparta Prague's first in seven competitive matches and its third game in a row without a win, since between the two Europa League matches it drew 0:0 in the league in Ostrava against Baník. Before the game in Piraeus, Priske recalled that he had lost 1:2 at the same stadium with Antwerp five years earlier, and said that he was focused mainly on the result of AC Sparta Prague.[2] Priske said that centre-back Adam Ševínský, like Karabec and Ryneš, would be out for several weeks. [2]
In the league match against Slovácko, which AC Sparta Prague won 5:1, only one Czech player was in the starting line-up. Priske said it was a coincidence. According to him, the team changed its system and played with two defensive midfielders and one attacking midfielder.[3] Striker Jonatan Brunes scored four goals in that match and AC Sparta Prague moved closer to Slavia in the league table. AC Sparta Prague began the Europa League league phase in September 2026 with a 4:1 win in Yerevan over Ararat-Armenia, while in the home match against Lillestrøm on 15 October 2026 it drew 1:1, having led from the 56th minute through a goal by substitute Josimar Alcócer, before Thomas Olsen equalised in stoppage time.
