Documentary by Helena Třeštíková

The director Helena Třeštíková first approached Basiková in 1996. The project grew into a thirty-year time-lapse documentary with more than a hundred hours of footage.[2] Earlier, Basiková had also appeared in the Czech Television project Women at the Turn of the Millennium (Ženy na přelomu tisíciletí), in which Třeštíková followed the lives of about ten women for five years.[3]

The documentary Bára Basiková premiered in cinemas on 17 September 2026. According to Třeštíková, the film runs for an hour and a half, and three further one-hour episodes were made for television.[3]

After the first screening, Basiková could have cut some scenes from the film but did not. She said: "To make it truthful, I really did not want to cut anything."[2]
