Adam Vojtěch is a Czech politician for the ANO movement and the minister of health.[1]
Prime Minister Andrej Babiš (ANO) said on 14 October 2026, before leaving for a European Council meeting, that he was not preparing any personnel changes in the government. He called reports by the Neovlivní server about the possible end of the health minister in office a "vulgar lie".[1]
According to the iROZHLAS server, Vojtěch's intention to allow vaccination in pharmacies met with resistance in the government from representatives of Motoristé sobě and SPD, but, according to the same server, he may receive support from the opposition. People will thus apparently continue to be unable to get vaccinated against flu or covid in pharmacies.[2] According to deputy chief hygienist Matyáš Fošum, 900,000 doses of covid-19 vaccine will be available in 2026, while in the previous season less than a third were used. [3] Health Minister Adam Vojtěch said on 6 October 2026 that from 2027 the state will no longer procure the covid-19 vaccine and that any reimbursement from public health insurance will be assessed by the State Institute for Drug Control. [3]
At a press conference on 6 October 2026 Vojtěch said that the ministry is following available information about a possible occurrence of pneumonic plague in Russia and is not taking specific steps but is in contact with the relevant authorities; the European Centre for Disease Prevention and Control assesses the risk for Europe as very low.
