The publisher New Look Media of businessman Miloš Štěpař announced on Friday 30 October 2026 that from 1 January 2027 it will take over publishing the Czech editions of the magazines Harper's Bazaar and Cosmopolitan. It concluded a partnership for this with Hearst Magazines International, a division of the US publisher Hearst Magazines that manages its international licences.[1][2]

End of the licence at Mafra

The previous publisher Mafra announced in summer 2026 that it wanted to concentrate on its own media brands and did not extend the licence cooperation. The last Czech issues under Mafra are to appear in November 2026, and the licences end on 31 December 2026.[1][2]

Plans of New Look Media

New Look Media wants to build on the existing work of both brands and to develop print editions, digital content and events. The original content of the Czech editorial teams is to be supplemented with selected material from Hearst's international network. The publisher intends to announce the editorial leadership and publishing plans separately.[1][2] Miloš Štěpař, the owner of New Look Media, said that both brands are among the world's best in their categories and that he is pleased that Hearst entrusted their development in the Czech Republic to his publishing house.[1][2]
