Srnojedy is a municipality in the Pardubice area with a population of 780.[1][2]

Council and elections

In the 2022 municipal elections, the Alternativa association won in the municipality with six seats. The Cesta Srnojedy group won three council seats. Both groups are also contesting the 2026 elections, in which the Pro Srnojedy group is running for the first time.[1][2]

Mayor's resignation in September 2026

Mayor Králíček stepped down on 30 September 2026. He does not wish to continue working at the municipal office or on the council, and is not standing again in the elections. Deputy mayor Juška stated that he would handle the agenda until a new municipal leadership is elected, and added that nothing significant had happened.[1][2]

The Pro Srnojedy group called the departure without explanation very unfortunate and pointed out that responsibility is passing to the deputy mayor overnight. Its leader Dominik Barták, who is also a spokesman for the Pardubice Region, told Deník that resigning shortly before the elections without giving a reason is, to say the least, unusual.[1][2]
