The STV Invest group bought from the Promet Group a half share in the company Promet Tools, which holds 35 percent of the shares of the Kopřivnice carmaker Tatra Trucks. STV Invest thus indirectly owns 17.5 percent of Tatra. The transaction was completed after the sale was approved by the European Commission. Promet Group reported it in a press release on 22 October 2026; the companies did not disclose the value of the transaction.[1][2]
Ownership structure
The majority stake of 65 percent in Tatra is held by the holding Czechoslovak Group (CSG). CSG and Promet Group have been co-owners of Tatra since 2013, when they acquired it at auction. Two years ago disputes arose among the shareholders, who are descendants of the original owners. The 35 percent stake is now held jointly by both groups through Promet Tools.[1][2]
Promet Group chief executive Denisa Materová and STV Invest board chairman Martin Drda said in a joint statement that negotiations with CSG on how the carmaker will operate under the new shareholder structure lie ahead. They called an agreement among all shareholders a priority. According to them, STV Invest brings Tatra another financially strong partner from the defence industry.[1][2]
