In a study published in early October 2026 it examined how Václav Havel is perceived; data collection ran from 14 to 20 September 2026 and 1,315 residents of the Czech Republic took part.[1] Among people aged 18 to 29, 88 per cent view him positively, in the over-60 group 60 per cent; among voters of opposition parties the share is 95 per cent and among voters of the governing coalition 62 per cent. [1] According to the results, 76 per cent of residents view Havel positively; in 2002 it was 71 per cent. [1] The results were commented on by the agency's analyst Jiří Táborský.[2] People most often see Havel as a figure of world importance in the fight for human rights. [1] Táborský said that among voters of non-parliamentary parties and non-voters, 40 per cent of people consider Havel to blame for today's problems. [2] According to the survey, 17 per cent of the whole population and 32 per cent of people over 60 blame Havel for most of the country's present problems. [2]
