Milan Urban is a Czech politician for SPD, a regional councillor and lead candidate of SPD in the 2026 municipal elections in Prague.[1]

Municipal elections in Prague

In an interview for Parlamentní listy of 2 October 2026, Urban said that SPD wants to defend and strengthen its seats so that a "coalition of common sense" free of social and transport experiments could be formed. In his view, eight years of government by the Pirates, Praha sobě and STAN have led the city to stagnation.[1] In a debate of candidates for mayor of Prague organised by Deník on 22 September 2026, he said that the city does not work and that transport is "tragic".[2]

Programme proposals

According to iDNES.cz, Urban proposes that the city renovate its empty flats, of which there are roughly one tenth, and allocate them to Prague residents according to need, and that it have housing construction carried out by others instead of building itself. He also mentions different parking arrangements for Prague residents and for commuters, and an annual public transport ticket for Prague residents available only for a fee.[3]
