The film Milovník, ne bojovník

The film won the Proxima competition section at this year's Karlovy Vary International Film Festival and received the Golden Kingfisher for best fiction film at the Finále Plzeň festival. Before its cinema release it opened the fourth season of the preview series Tady Vary.[1]

According to reviews on Novinky.cz and iDNES.cz, it tells the story of young people entering adulthood.[1][2] The Novinky.cz review states that the film alternates between time planes, uses vertical framing and combines first- and third-person narration with subtitled commentary.[1] The Novinky.cz reviewer classes the film as a romantic comedy that avoids predictability, and also assesses the work with young actors and non-actors. [1] The plot follows the cousins Andrej and Petr, who live with their grandmother, and Andrej's relationship with a girl named Míša. [1] At his grandmother's, Andrej tries to find refuge from excessive drinking. [1]
