Marius Pedersen is a company active in waste management in Czechia and Slovakia, headquartered in Hradec Králové.[1][2] It provides the collection of municipal and industrial waste, and its sorting, processing and disposal.[1][3]
Scope of activity
The company employs roughly 3,500 people in Czechia at more than 80 sites and facilities. According to the company, about 25 thousand industrial customers and almost two thousand towns and municipalities rely on its services, for which it handles approximately two million tonnes of waste a year.[1][2] Annual turnover last year exceeded 300 million euros, which converts to roughly 7.3 billion crowns.[2]
Ownership
The current owner is the Danish group Marius Pedersen A/S.[1][2] The French group Paprec signed an agreement with it on 12 October 2026 to take over all waste management activities in Czechia and Slovakia. The parties did not disclose the purchase price; estimates by experts cited by the media range from roughly 15 billion crowns upwards. Completion of the deal is subject to approval by the antitrust authorities in Czechia and Slovakia, which the parties expect in the coming months.[1][2][3]
