Marek Ošťádal is a senator for district no. 66 Litovel, which covers part of the Olomouc and Šumperk areas and was renamed for the 2026 elections from the name Olomouc. He previously served as mayor of the village of Nákl. He was mayor of Nákl from 2010 to 2022 and has been a senator since 2020. [3] Six years ago he ran for the Senate for STAN, in 2026 for his own movement 24/7.[1] He is also the frontman of the regional band Stracené ráj, which he founded. [3]

In the first round of the Senate elections on 10 October 2026 he advanced as the incumbent senator to the second round together with Martin Škurek (ANO).[2] Škurek is a deputy regional governor. [4] Ošťádal received 32.17 percent of the vote, Škurek 28.78 percent, and just behind him came Michael Kohajda of KDU-ČSL; turnout was 40.02 percent. [2] Five candidates ran for the seat; six years ago there were seven. [2] Before the first round, by his own account, he barely campaigned and relied on the results of his six years of work in the Senate. He described advancing to the second round as beyond expectations and said that he had not originally expected to get there. [1] He said he does not plan to ask the defeated candidates for support.[1]

Kohajda is rector of Palacký University Olomouc and received 28.5 percent of the vote. [4]
