Lidl Česká republika has had a new chief executive since 1 October 2026: Matúš Gála.[1] He has worked in the Lidl group since 2008 and held several management positions in European markets. In 2016 he took over the Slovak branch, which he ran for almost six years, then served as chief executive of Lidl for Belgium and Luxembourg and later worked in the group's international management.[1]
He succeeded Tomasz Kuźma at the head of the Czech company; Kuźma had led it since November 2024 and is retiring after leaving the post. Gála says he intends to build on the company's existing strategy, and he credited its success to the work of 14,000 employees.[1]
