Libuše Šafránková (7 June 1953, Brno – 9 June 2021, Prague) was a Czech actress.

Libuše Šafránková was a Czech actress. According to the Encyclopedia of the Arts and Theatre Institute, she was born on 7 June 1953 in Brno and died on 9 June 2021 in Prague.[1]

Theatre roles

The encyclopedia documents her stage work with photographs from productions. At the National Theatre Brno she played Barunka in the 1971 dramatization of Grandmother. In 1972 she portrayed Nina Mikhailovna Zarechnaya in Chekhov's The Seagull at Divadlo za branou; the same play was staged in 1975 by Činoherní klub, where she appeared as Nina.[1]

At Činoherní klub she also played Checca in Goldoni's play Poprask na laguně (1973), Tonička in Mahen's Chroust (1974), Cathleen in O'Neill's Long Day's Journey into Night (1978), Colombina in the play Tři v tom (1978), Ágika in Örkény's The Tóth Family (1982) and Anna Martynovna Zmeyukina in the play Weddings after Chekhov and Brecht (1985).[1]

Farewell

Czech Television broadcast the farewell service from the Church of St. Agnes in Spořilov in 2021, where the actress's closest relatives and friends said their goodbyes.[2]
