Lenka Brzyszkowská (ANO) is the mayor of the town of Orlová in the Karviná area, which has about 27,000 inhabitants.[1] After the 2026 municipal elections a coalition is forming in Orlová, in which representatives of the movement Stačilo! have joined the existing partners. Brzyszkowská is to remain at the head of the town.[1] The coalition was signed by ANO, SPD with the support of Trikolora, and Srdcem pro Orlovou, which together hold fifteen of the 31 seats, so two representatives of the movement Stačilo! joined them.[1]

Senate elections 2026

Brzyszkowská ran in the 2026 Senate elections in the Karviná district, where the incumbent senator Ondřej Feber (ANO) did not defend his seat. She advanced to the second round from first place with a large lead over the other candidate who advanced, and her opponent is Petr Kazík.[2][3] Turnout in the district did not reach 30 percent.[3] In the first round Brzyszkowská received 8,009 votes, or 33.62 percent, and Kazík 3,411 votes, or 14.32 percent.[4] According to iDNES.cz, if elected to the Senate of the Czech Republic she wants to manage both offices.[1] Brzyszkowská said that her experience from local politics could help her in the Senate, and as an example she named the long-serving senator Petr Vícha, until recently the mayor of Bohumín.[1]
