Jiří Prskavec is a Czech slalom canoeist, kayaker and Olympic champion from Tokyo.[1][3] In the 2026 season he went out in the semi-final at the World Championships in Oklahoma in July and finished fourth at the European Championships in Ivrea in September, so he remained without an individual medal from the major events.[1]
Preparation for the next season
At a press conference on 1 October 2026 Prskavec said that this year he focused on strength training, but the three to four kilograms of muscle he gained did not show on the water and, in his words, the boat glided worse.[1][2] For next season he wants to return to the preparation that worked for him before and to reduce his weight.[1][2] According to Deník, next season is important with a view to the 2028 Olympic Games in Los Angeles.[3]
