Jakub Krejčí is a Czech whitewater slalom paddler who competes in the kayak. In the 2026 season he won the world title at the championships in Oklahoma City in July and then the European title.[1][2] At the world championships a year earlier he finished second.[1]
The 2026 season
In the final of the European championships in Italy he beat Italy's Xabier Ferrazzi by almost two seconds. In kayak cross at the same championships he finished fourth.[2][3] During the season he also won two World Cup races and placed third in the overall World Cup standings.[1][2] At the World Cup race in Vaires-sur-Marne in September he was eliminated in qualification, where he received four 50-second penalties for missed gates and finished 78th.[1]
Preparation
Before the season he switched from coach Jan Vondra to Ondřej Tunka, and after the season he is returning to Vondra with his whole training group.[1] At a meeting with journalists on 2 October 2026 he called the season exceptional and said he wants to combine kayak and cross at the 2028 Olympic Games in Los Angeles.[1]
