Fuel prices in Czechia are monitored by the company CCS. According to its data, on 21 October 2026 diesel cost 47.63 koruna per litre on average and Natural 95 petrol 44.85 koruna per litre.[1]

Price development in October 2026

Over the week before 21 October the average diesel price rose by 19 haléř, while Natural 95 was 98 haléř cheaper than a week earlier.[1] Since the beginning of October 2026 the state has been setting maximum fuel prices because of rising prices following the conflict in the Middle East. In the first week after the regulation was introduced the average price of Natural 95 fell by 60 haléř and that of diesel by two koruna; in the following week the decline stopped.[1]

The Ministry of Finance set the price cap for 21 October at 45.19 CZK/l for Natural 95 and 48.60 CZK/l for diesel. For Friday 23 October the cap for diesel was to be 48.70 CZK/l and for petrol 44.94 CZK/l.[1] The government also lowered the excise duty on diesel to 8.011 koruna per litre from the original 9.95 koruna; for petrol it left it unchanged.[1] A similar regulation applied from mid-April to mid-July 2026.[1] A group of senators filed a proposal to repeal the law that allows prices to be regulated by government decree.[1]

Comparison

According to CCS, a litre of Natural 95 cost 10.59 koruna and a litre of diesel 14.77 koruna less than a year earlier. Before the state intervened, the diesel price came close to the previous maximum in CCS records from mid-March 2022, when diesel cost almost 49.60 CZK/l on average.[1]

The cheapest petrol on 21 October was in the Karlovy Vary Region at an average of 44.53 CZK/l, the cheapest diesel in the Pardubice Region at 47.37 CZK/l. The most expensive fuels were offered by filling stations in Prague: Natural 95 at 45.04 CZK/l and diesel at 48.08 CZK/l.[1]

According to ČTK, analysts expected diesel to continue rising towards 48 CZK/l, while petrol was expected to become slightly cheaper.[1]
