Integrated transport of the Plzeň Region will make single tickets for travel through the first three outer zones and short-term passes more expensive from 1 January 2027. The region justified this by rising costs, inflation and the change of the VAT rate on fares from 10 to 12 percent, which, according to deputy governor Pavel Čížek (STAN), it had subsidised over the last three years without reflecting it in prices.[1][2]

The first outer zone will cost 18 crowns instead of 14, the second 14 crowns instead of 12 and the third 12 crowns instead of 10. The fourth and further zones remain at 10 crowns. The network ticket for seven or more zones will rise from 84 to 92 crowns.[1][2]

The quarterly pass for one zone will rise from 904 to 918 crowns and the half-year pass from 1,584 to 1,596 crowns. The annual pass will remain at 2,900 crowns. The change will also affect some supplementary products, for example tourist tickets and the carriage of dogs, bicycles, skis and luggage. The new price list is to be on the website idpk.cz from 1 January 2027.[2]

According to Čížek, the tariff is set so that public transport remains advantageous for regular passengers. The executive director of the company POVED, which organises integrated transport, Jiří Kozák, said that instead of cancelling services the region decided to maintain the standard and continue the modernisation of trains and buses.[2]
