An explosion occurred on 30 October 2026 at around 9:00 local time on the premises of the Spanish ammunition company Fábrica de Municiones de Granada (FMG), which belongs to the Czechoslovak Group (CSG). CSG spokesperson Andrej Čírtek said it took place in the demilitarisation zone, that is, an area intended for the disposal of old, damaged or unusable ammunition, which lies at a safe distance from the production plants and from civilian property.[1][2][3][4]
According to CSG, the company contacted the 112 emergency line immediately and evacuated its employees, and firefighters, police officers and paramedics attended the scene. Two people suffered minor hearing injuries; nobody was seriously injured. The company is cooperating with the relevant authorities to establish the causes of the explosion.[1][3][4]
According to CSG, the explosion damaged neither production processes nor civilian property, and the group does not expect a major impact on production at FMG.[1][3][4]
