Dominik Frodl is a Czech ice hockey goaltender for Energie Karlovy Vary who at the start of October 2026 broke the club record for the longest run without conceding a goal.

Dominik Frodl is a Czech ice hockey goaltender who plays for BYD Energie Karlovy Vary in the Extraliga. According to the Czech News Agency, he was 30 years old in October 2026 and had 37 shutouts in the top competition.[2]
Start of the 2026/27 season
After six matches of the new season Frodl had a save percentage of 97.88, which put him top of the Extraliga goaltender statistics. According to Karlovarská Drbna, he became Tipsport Extraliga player of September with 36 percent of fans' votes on the Hokej.cz website. The club stated that in September he played in four matches, celebrated three wins and never conceded more than one goal.[1]
Frodl shut out Sparta at the O2 arena in Prague and after the match in Vítkovice went 157 minutes without conceding. At the start of October he broke the club record of Rudolf Pejchar, which had stood for 28 years. His run without conceding lasted 207 minutes and 38 seconds and ended in front of a sold-out Mattoni Arena, where 5,809 spectators watched the derby.[1][2] Karlovy Vary were among the teams with the firmest defence in the Extraliga, conceding nine goals in six matches.[2]
Other activities
In connection with the partnership between Red Bull and the Tipsport Extraliga, Frodl appeared in a filmed project with the aerobatic pilot Martin Šonka, which included a flight in an aerobatic plane.[3]
