In Olomouc, on Třída Svobody near the junction with Lafayettova Street, a tram hit a parked Mercedes Unimog vehicle with an extended lifting platform. A technical worker who was repairing overhead lines was on the platform at the time of the collision. After the impact he fell onto the roadway from a height of almost six metres, was injured and was taken to hospital.[1]
According to the police spokesperson, the tram driver, on the basis of initial findings, overlooked the parked vehicle. The preliminary estimate of the damage to the vehicles is half a million koruna. The exact circumstances and causes of the accident are the subject of further investigation.[1]
