In Havířov, the existing coalition of the ANO movement, Společně pro Havířov and Hnutí pro Havířov agreed on 11 October 2026, after the municipal elections, to continue. Together they hold 25 votes in the 43-member council. Iveta Kočí Palkovská (ANO) is to remain mayor of the city. The parties intend to sign the coalition agreement in the coming days.[1][2]

Election result

The elections in the city were won by the grouping Havířov sobě with 27.21 percent of the votes; the ANO movement received 26.38 percent. Havířov sobě remains in opposition. Its leader Jiří Jekl said that the grouping had come to City Hall with its own proposal, which was not accepted, and that, unlike four years earlier, the negotiation with ANO was accommodating.[2]

Allocation of posts

Jakub Chlopecký (ANO) is again to be the deputy mayor for the economy and Alena Olšoková (ANO) the deputy mayor for social affairs. Bohuslav Niemiec of Společně pro Havířov remains deputy mayor for investment. Eva Šillerová, who led the grouping into the elections, is to become a deputy mayor for the first time and is expected to be in charge of the environment, municipal services and strategic development. One deputy mayor post will go to Hnutí pro Havířov; its portfolio has not been determined.[1][2]
