The publishing house New Look Media, owned by entrepreneur Miloš Štěpař, will take over publication of the Czech editions of the magazines Harper's Bazaar and Cosmopolitan from 1 January 2027. It announced this on 30 October 2026 and said that it had concluded a partnership with Hearst Magazines International, which manages the international licences of the publisher Hearst Magazines.[1][2]

The titles had so far been published by the company Mafra. In summer 2026 it announced that it wanted to concentrate on its own media brands and was giving up licensed titles. The last Czech issues under Mafra are due to appear in November 2026, and the licence cooperation with Hearst ends on 31 December 2026.[1][2]

New Look Media intends to build on the existing activities of both brands and to develop the print edition, digital content and live events. The original content of the Czech editorial teams is to be supplemented by selected material from Hearst's international network. The publisher intends to publish information on the management of the editorial teams and on its publishing plans in separate announcements.[1][2] Miloš Štěpař, the owner of New Look Media, said of the takeover that the media environment is changing quickly and that new formats offer an opportunity to reach more readers.[1]

Cosmopolitan has been published in Czechia since 1994, Harper's Bazaar since 1996. Both titles came to Mafra in 2018 with the purchase of the publishing house Bauer Media.[2]
