Barbora Urbanová is Deputy Speaker of the Chamber of Deputies and a member of parliament for the STAN movement.[1][2]

Statements in October 2026

In the ČT24 Sunday Debate after the municipal elections, she said that the STAN movement accepts the results with humility and that its goal is to overtake the ANO movement in the polls in the future.[3]

After Chamber of Deputies Speaker Tomio Okamura announced a speeding up of the consideration of the abolition of fees for Czech Television and Czech Radio, Urbanová wrote on a social network that voters in the Senate and municipal elections had rejected the extremes and the conflict that, in her view, the government is creating.[2] She added regarding the governing coalition that if it wants to make a mistake, it should be allowed to, but “let them not cry afterwards”. At a press conference on 22 October 2026, together with the STAN movement, she called for financial support for the 17 November celebrations on Národní, whose organizers announced a fundraising appeal after the Ministry of Culture's decision not to pay out a grant to the association.[1] She also proposed extending the limitation period for sexual offences against children so that it would run from the moment the victim reaches the age of 30 rather than 18. [4] In September 2026 Urbanová proposed that murder and other offences punishable by an exceptional sentence, in which death was intentionally caused or attempted, should not become time-barred under any circumstances.
